Alice Rawsthorn

Design Critic, International Herald Tribune

Alice Rawsthorn is the design critic of the International Herald Tribune. A regular broadcaster, she is a columnist for the New York Times Magazine and writes on the arts and culture for The Guardian. Rawsthorne was director of the Design Museum in London from 2001 to 2006, and before that an award-winning journalist with the Financial Times. Her books include a biography of the fashion designer Yves Saint Laurent and a monograph on the work of the designer Marc Newson. Rawsthorne is a trustee of the Whitechapel Gallery in London and the lead adviser on the visual arts to Arts Council England.
