Gavin Butt is Senior Lecturer in the Department of Visual Cultures at Goldsmiths College, University of London. He is author of Between You and Me: Queer Disclosures in the New York Art World 1948-1963 (Duke Univ. Press) and editor of After Criticism: New Responses to Art and Performance (Blackwell). He is currently at work on a new book project tentatively entitled You Cannot Be Serious: Flirtatious Acts in Contemporary Culture.
