Biography

Lucy Soutter

Artist, Critic and Art Historian, London College of Communication

Dr Lucy Soutter is a Senior Lecturer in Photography at The London College of Communication, and is an artist, art historian and critic. She studied photography at the California Institute of the Arts. Her 2001 Yale University PhD thesis The Visual Idea examined the uses of photography in conceptual art. Lucy writes for publications including Afterimage, Portfolio and Source. Her artist’s books are in the collections of MoMA in New York, and The National Art Library in London.
