California-born and Frankfurt-based artist Mike Bouchet invited the motivational speaker, Alex MacPhail, to address the gallerists of Frieze Art Fair. MacPhail, like speakers found in the programmes of business conventions, tailored his positive reinforcement skills to make a presentation on topics important to the business of selling art. Through positive re-enforcement the seminar, entitled Sell and Destroy: Redrawing the Bottom Line, dealt with issues such as business ethics, cultivating honest relationships with artists and collector, positive visualization towards increased sales and how to sell more challenging works of art.
MacPhail also performed his talk for members of the public as part of the Frieze Talks programme at 5pm, Sunday 18 October.
