Enthusiasm!

‘Project Art Centre curator Grant Watson and Sarah Pierce (The Metropolitan Complex, Dublin) are co-curating a series of radio programmes in collaboration with Resonance104.4fm, which will be broadcast live from the Resonance radio booth at the fair, 11am - 12pm daily. These programmes will take the term communism as their starting point and will include conversations, interviews and group discussions with artists, theorists, filmmakers and activists, as well as with visitors attending the fair — tapping into the surplus economies of the event as a meeting place for people from around the world.

The curatorial team worked with the diverse possibilities of radio, so that discussions were interspersed with related sound elements, such as music, readings and audio works by artists. Visitors were able to listen to the broadcasts at the fair while audiences across London could tune in from home. These radio broadcasts were part of an ongoing series of projects curated by Watson that addresses communism. These include an exhibition at Project Arts Centre in 2005 and the book Make Everything New published with Book Works, October 2006.’
